New Mexico is hemorrhaging doctors. Between 2017 and 2021, we lost 30% of our primary care providers (711 doctors), and since 2019 have the distinction of being the only state to lose doctors every year, with a net loss of 248 physicians.
Patients Primero is a bipartisan group of concerned citizens working to educate everyone about the factors driving the provider shortage and how to advocate for change.
During this training, participants will learn about Patients Primero, the issues driving the shortage of healthcare providers, and how to advocate for change.
