New Mexico Economic Development Grant Announces New Logo
We are proud to unveil the official logo for the New Mexico Economic Development Fund (NMED). Launched in 2021 through a partnership between El Paso Electric (EPE) and Infrastructure Investments Fund (IIF), this initiative is held in collaboration with the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico and guided by a dedicated three-member board of advisors. Each year, $1 million is invested in economic development organizations committed to job creation, business growth, and entrepreneurial innovation throughout New Mexico. This fund and its new logo stand as a symbol of partnership, progress, and a shared belief in New Mexico’s bright future. Together, we’re building stronger communities.

New Mexico Economic Development Grant
The purpose of this grant is to support private businesses, projects and organizations that make or will make a measurable difference in achieving economic growth and development, expanding and diversifying the tax base, and creating new quality jobs within El Paso Electric’s New Mexico service territory. New businesses or the expansion of existing businesses can be considered.

New Mexico Economic Initiative Grant
Description of Economic-Based Industry/Jobs, which applicants must demonstrate their ability to create:
Economic growth and prosperity within Doña Ana, Luna, Otero and Sierra counties depends on sectors that export goods and/or services to customers outside of the region. These sectors are known as “economic-based industries/jobs”. These economic-based industries stimulate local economic growth by bringing jobs and income into Doña Ana, Luna, Otero and Sierra counties economy.
This grant will be accepting applications through December 31, 2024. Applications will be reviewed quarterly by the NM Economic Development Advisors.
Application is reviewed quarterly
The Project MUST:
- Show a clear demonstration of public purpose and economic benefit through advancement of the region’s economic goals which include expanding the tax base, creating quality economic-based jobs (definition below), increasing private capital investment in the community, and spurring development;
- Include solid evidence provided by the business that demonstrates the business’s financial stability and capacity to complete the project;
- Be in compliance with all local, state and federal laws.
